On an escorted itinerary, a tour manager or escort typically accompanies a group across a defined route. Local guides may join for particular sites. Departure dates, overnight stops and included sightseeing are often set in advance, although the arrangements vary by operator and package.
Ask when the escort is present, how much time is independent and whether island extensions operate differently from the mainland portion. A trip described as guided does not necessarily provide a guide every hour. Read the daily programme and service list before deciding.
What is a custom independent Greece vacation?
A custom independent vacation brings together arrangements for your travelling party without requiring you to join the same escorted group for the whole trip. Hotels, airport and port transfers, island transport and selected outings can be arranged around your dates. Local drivers and guides meet you for the services confirmed in your itinerary.
You still have independent time. You may dine on your own, explore a neighbourhood or spend an afternoon at your hotel. Local support helps with the arranged journey; it does not mean a representative is physically beside you throughout your stay. Private transfers and shared sightseeing can work together
Private road transfers are arranged for your party between the points listed in your quotation. A scheduled ferry or flight remains shared transport. A small-group cooking class or boat excursion also remains shared unless a private service has specifically been quoted.
This combination can provide personal transport at the transitions while keeping selected experiences more economical. If you prefer private sightseeing, ask for that option before booking. Compare the exact guide, vehicle, admissions, duration and pickup arrangements rather than assuming that a private transfer makes an entire vacation private.
